Giannis Thalassinos
The architect

He was born in Piraeus, but grew up in Chios and Serifos (Aegean islands), where his parents come from. His studies at the University of Venice and his permanent settlement in Paros complete the puzzle of images of his “personal archive”.
Since 1983 “Ergorythmos” by Giannis Thalassinos, located in Parikia Paros Cyclades, undertakes Architectural projects, supervisions and constructions of exclusively private projects (houses, hotels, shops, workshops, etc.).
Assessor of the Technical Chamber of Greece.
Special introducer of the Disciplinary Board of the Technical Chamber of Greece.
Appraiser for more than 15 years of Emporiki Bank Of Greece.
Member of the Architectural Control Committee of the Naxos Urban Authority.
Technical  adviser of the Union of Paros Agricultural Cooperatives.
Today he specializes with great success in designing and constructing houses of particular aesthetic requirements in Paros.

The philosophy

The morpholofy of the Aegean landscape, the Cycladic tradition and the demands of the modern lifestyle guide his work for highly aesthetic houses built for those who love sun light and the deep blue of the sea.

The compositions of Giannis Thalassinos contain the entire folk wisdom of the Cycladic tradition. Sun, light, shade and view for the islanders’ houses but also use of the experience of the modern science to make the accommodation comfortable and functional.

Comfortable interior areas with smart solutions to fully exploit every comer, levels that adopt the shape of the landscape and of  course the traditional Cycladic benches and arches are some of the elements that make the houses of Thalassinos stand out.

The external areas paved with ston, the multiple levels, the yards protected from the wind, the stone arches and windows are also special features of the architecture that he ministers.

The houses constructed by Giannis stand out from a distance because they are… one with the shape of the landscape! They look like carved constructions, like ships traveling in the Cycladic archipelago – only instead of a funnel the have another point of reference… the traditional chimneys.
